Namrata Kolachalam is a freelance journalist and writer based in Mumbai. Her work has appeared in outlets including The Atlantic, Slate, Bloomberg, The Telegraph, Roads & Kingdoms, and Atlas Obscura.
She grew up in Michigan, studied politics and film at Oberlin College, and received a master’s degree in Global Security Studies with a focus on climate change from Johns Hopkins University. Previously, she worked in the Obama White House, and as a spokesperson for the Department of Energy and Department of Transportation.
